Serve with Joy!

Contact the church office if you would like to be a part of a specific mission project!

Is the Lord asking you to start a ministry?  Respond with enthusiasm!  Let us know how we can help you.

Begin filling shoeboxes with small gifts, toiletries, and snacks to send to children around the world.  All boxes are to be returned to the church by November 16.  Please enclose $7 with each box for postage.

The FREE Coat Give-Away was held on Saturday, Oct 11 at the Community Center in downtown Carthage.  46 Coats were given out to families in the community.  Thank you for all of your donations and help!

God has blessed us with the opportunity to continue to work with the Carpenters House 2 in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans. Donations of appliances, furniture, clothes, musical instruments, books, toys, and money will continue to be collected until God says to stop. Please deliver your donations to The Ridge during office hours OR call the office to arrange pick-up or delivery. Items will be stored at the Goodpaster's barn or at the Saunder's barn. God may also make available a storage shed that can be placed at the church for donations. Go God!

A Discovery Toy Drive is being held in November to benefit Carpenters House 2.  Toys can be ordered for a needy family and shipped directly to CH2 in New Orleans.  These toys will be given out on Christmas Eve.  Another option is to order toys for someone on your gift list.  The bonuses earned from these purchases will go to sending more toys to CH2.  Order forms and more information are available at the church.

Pastor Oliver Duvernay from Central Missionary Baptist Church in the Lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans will be visiting Indiana and the Ridge sometime this fall.  Donations are being accepted for this much needed vacation.  Contact the church office if you would like to contribute.

Food Pantry

A community Food Pantry is open from 8-10 AM on the 2nd & 4th Saturdays of each month.  Other times are available by appointment.   Items that are needed:  any non-perishable food, bread, hot dogs, bologna, any luncheon meat, hamburger, laundry detergent, toilet paper, dish soap, ibuprofen, childrens pain reliever, diaper wipes, diapers, bar soap, shampoo, bandaids.   Donations can be taken to the church for storage and/or distribution.  Children's clothes and shoes are also needed.   This ministry is being led by Robin Goodpaster.  Contact the church office for more information or to become involved. Volunteers are needed to help with distribution and stocking.  Sign up at the church or e-mail the church office.

Help!  Robin needs help!  The Walnut Ridge Food Pantry is now part of a network that distributes food in the central Indiana area.  Large supplies of food are brought to the church to be distributed each month.  This ministry is rapidly growing as more people struggle to meet their bills.  Help is needed to:  pick up food, meet and pray with clients, and sort and stock the shelves.  Call us if you want to help.

News from New Orleans

Missionaries: Charles & Judy Dillon!

Judy is recovering from surgery to remove a cancerous kidney.  The surgeon said the operation went "better than great" and she is slowly recuperating.  Continue to pray for Charles and Judy both as she tries to stay "down" for the next few weeks.  God is so good!

Check out the website.... www.crescentcitycarpentershouse.org.  to see pictures of Chip the Cow and his trip to New Orleans with Josh, Sarah, Mindy, and Vanna!

Ways you can help in the Lower Ninth Ward:

  •    Pray
  •    Send $$$  or gift cards for WalMart, Home Depot or Lowe's.   Many homeless people are living under "the big bridge" on the edge of the lower ninth ward.  Judy and Charles go to this area and hand out sandwiches, bottled water, and a bag of chips.  WalMart gift cards would help pay for the food for this outreach.
  •   Go!!!
